On April 29th, 2022, the Ministry of Health issued Official Letter No. 2213/BYT-DP, whereby the domestic medical declaration will be temporarily suspended (domestic transportation, public areas, restaurants…), localities still maintain surveillance, promptly detection and investigation, handling of any outbreaks.
The suspension of domestic medical declaration takes effect from April 30th, which is based on the noticeable reduction of infections and deaths, a high rate of Covid-19 vaccine coverage with over 96% of people over 12 years old having been vaccinated, currently, the 5-11 years old group is being vaccinated, the vaccine shows effective against the current SARS-CoV-2 virus variants.
The medical declaration is one of five epidemic prevention measures, also known as 5K measures (masks, disinfection, distance, medical declaration, do not gather) which is applied by the Ministry of Health since Covid-19 spread. Thus, with the suspension of medical declaration, anti-epidemic measures in Vietnam are now only 4K.
Before this, on April 26th, 2022, the Ministry of Health also issued Official Letter No. 2118/BYT-DP on the temporary suspension of medical declarations for people on entry at all border gates from 00h00 on April 27th, 2022.
