The Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism have adjusted the plan to reopen tourism activities under new normal conditions, ensuring safety and preventing the COVID-19 epidemic. From March 15, 2022, tourism activities will be reopened under new normal conditions, including welcoming international tourists to Vietnam (inbound) and bringing tourists abroad (outbound) through international border gates by air, road, and sea, complying with safety regulations for epidemic prevention and control.
Before the time of the COVID-19 pandemic, Vietnam had applied many policies to simplify entry and exit procedures for tourists to attract international visitors such as unilateral and bilateral visa-free policies and visa-free travel. issue e-visas for citizens from potential source markets of Vietnam tourism.
With the risk of COVID-19 infection, the Government Office issued Notice No. 89/TB-VPCP dated March 10, 2020, on COVID-19 prevention and control “temporarily suspending unilateral visa exemption”.
In order to effectively reopen tourism activities, the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism requests the Government Office to report to the Prime Minister for permission to apply the visa policy for incoming visitors from March 15, 2022, as it did before the COVID-19 epidemic in order to effectively attract international tourists, soon recover and develop tourism in the near future.
