On November 15, 2019, Government has issued Decree No. 90/2019/ND-CP replacing Decree No. 157/2018/ND-CP stipulating region-based minimum wage applied to employees working under labour contract. The region-based minimum wage applied from January 1, 2020 increase from VND 150,000 to VND 240,000/month depending on region, specifically as follows:
– For employees of enterprises located in region I: VND 4,420,000 VND/month (increased by VND 240,000/month compared to current regulations);
– For employees of enterprises located in region II: VND 3,920,000/month (increased by VND 210,000/month);
– For employees of enterprises located in region III: VND 3,430,000/month (increased by VND 180,000/month);
– For employees of enterprises located in region IV: VND 3,070,000/month (increased by VND 150,000/month);
The list of region I, region II, region III and region IV is provided in the Appendix enclosed in this Decree.
Decree No. 90/2019/ND-CP comes into force from January 1, 2020.
