On July 11st, , the National Wage Council officially set the increase in the regional minimum wage 2020 after reaching agreement between employees’ representatives and business representatives. Accordingly, the regional minimum wage in 2020 will increase by 5.5%, compared to the 2019 salary level stipulated in Decree 157/2018/ND-CP.
With an increase of 5.5%, in 2020, the regional minimum wage applied to employees working in business sector will increase by VND 240,000/month in region I, 210,000 VND/month region II, VND 180,000/month region III and VND 150,000/month in region IV. Thus, the expected regional minimum wage level for 2020 applies to employees working in enterprises is as follow:
- The level of VND 4,420,000/month, applied to enterprises operating in region I;
- The level of VND 3,920,000/month, applied to enterprises operating in region II;
- The level of VND 3,430,000/month, applied to enterprises operating in region III;
- The level of VND 3,070,000/month, applied to enterprises operating in region IV,
The regional minimum wage increase will officially be submitted to the Government in the upcoming time to issue a Decree about regional minimum wage increase for year 2020.
