On May 24th 2019, the Ministry of Science and Technology issued Decision 1337/QD-BKHCN announcing new administrative procedures in the field of scientific and technological activities under the management of the Ministry of Science and Technology. Accordingly, used machineries and equipment with their age beyond the regulations may be allowed to be imported into Vietnam if following conditions are met:
- Capacity (in terms of the number of products produced by machines and equipment in a unit of time) or the remaining performance of machines and equipment still reaches 85% or more of capacity or performance capacity;
- The consumption of raw materials, materials and energy of machinery and equipment does not exceed 15% compared to the design;
The Enterprise which has demand of importing the above-mentioned machinery and equipment shall submit the dossiers of document for requesting import permission from Ministry of Science and Technology, including:
- A request document for permission to import used machinery and equipment (form No. 01 Decision 18/2019/QD-TTg);
- The copy of the enterprise registration certificate stamped by the enterprise;
- An inspection certificate issued by an assessment organization appointed by the Ministry of Science and Technology.
Decision No.1337/QD-BKHCN takes effect from June 15, 2019
