According to the Government’s proposal, base salary is expected to increase to 1.6 million VND/month in 2020, which is 110,000 VND/month higher than the current base salary. This proposal has received consensus among the majority in the National Assembly Committee for Financial and Budgetary Affairs.
The increase in base salary leads to a corresponding raise in the maximum salary to be paid for Social Insurance and Health Insurance. Under the current regulations, the maximum level of social insurance and health insurance premiums is 20 times of the base salary.
