At the meeting between Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs, Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) and a number of business associations (enterprises) regarding comments on the draft of the Labor Code (amended) on September 16, representatives of employers and businesses rejected the proposal of reducing normal working hours from a maximum of 48 hours / week to 44 hours / week as requirement earlier by Vietnam General Confederation of Labor.

After hearing such opinions, Minister of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs said that the Ministry would not show the proposal of reducing the standard working hours to a maximum of 44 hours / week in the draft of the Labor Code (amended) and maintain the maximum of 48 hours per week as current regulations.
