On February 21st, 2022, the Ministry of Health issued Official Letter No. 762/BYT-DP guiding medical isolation for COVID-19 infected cases and people with close contacts, thereby close contact (F1) is changed as follows:
+ For people who have had taken at least 02 full doses of the COVID-19 vaccine:
Carry out medical isolation for 5 days at home, place of residence or other areas eligible for isolation arranged and set up by local agencies, organizations, units or schools from the date of last exposure; conduct test for SARS-CoV-2 virus by PCR, antigen (antigen rapid test or by immunoassay) on the 5th day of isolation.
If the results are negative, continue to self-monitor for the next 5 days and strictly follow the 5K principles
+ For people who have not received the full dose of COVID-19 vaccine or have not been vaccinated against COVID-19:
Carry out 07 days of medical isolation at home, accommodation or other areas eligible for isolation arranged and established by agencies, organizations, local units, schools from the date of last exposure; conduct a test for SARS-CoV-2 virus by PCR or antigen (antigen rapid test or by immunoassay) on the 7th day of isolation.
If the result is negative, continue to self-monitor for the next 3 days and strictly follow the 5K principles.
Close contact (F1) is one of the following cases: A person who has direct physical with a confirmed case (F0) during the infectious period; A person who still wore a face mask while having contact or communicating within 2 meters, or in a narrow and closed space, with a confirmed case (F0) during the infectious period for at least 15 minutes; A person who did not wear a face mask while having close contact or communicating within 2 meters, or in a narrow and closed space, with a confirmed case (F0) during the infectious period; A person providing medical care, examination and treatment directly for F0 during the infectious period without using adequate personal protective equipment.
